After a violent incident, it is not uncommon to find that people were aware of clues that violence was being planned. This is because most violent incidents often follow an evolutionary process where signs and indicators can be seen. Yet, without a clearly defined process to gather information and assess the situation, violence prevention is extremely difficult. This webinar provides a communication and decision-making model to help businesses, schools, organizations, and communities become more effective in their management of threats. Viewers will learn strategies to help them identify, assess, and manage individuals who may be escalating towards violence.

About the Trainer

George Anderson, BA, CPP

George is a popular presenter of our Violence Threat Assessment and De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations™ workshops. He is a senior management consultant and security specialist with over 25 years of leadership and management experience in the public sector. George is a Certified Protection Professional with a focus on violence risk assessment, and extensive knowledge in the development of violence and threat assessment programs. He is the former director of Safety, Security, and Investigations for a Manitoba crown agency. George holds Bachelor’s degrees in Social Sciences and Criminal Justice and is a certified protection professional with a focus on violence risk assessment. George has significant experience presenting training seminars, and his fusion of in-the-trenches business experience and real-life stories connects with his clients and audiences at an intimate and individual level.

Cancellation Policy

Registrations cancelled seven or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively, you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than seven days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify CTRI of the name of the alternate person who will be attending.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel arrangements with this in mind.

Limited Seating

Register Early! To better facilitate group interaction, seating is limited.

Children and unregistered guests are not permitted in the meeting rooms.

You Will Receive

A spiral bound training manual and workshop certificate, as well as morning and afternoon refreshments. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon until 1:00 p.m., unless otherwise stated. For live-stream participants, you will receive a pdf copy of the manual.

To register a group for a workshop, choose the appropriate number you would like to register for the selected workshop, and fill in all the relevant information.

Continuing Education Credit

While many associations and licensing bodies accept CTRI workshops for continuing education credits, questions about approval should be directed to the specific association or licensing body for which you are requesting the credits. Credit hours: There are six continuing education credits earned for each day of training. For example, a one-day workshop earns six continuing education hours, while a two-day workshop earns 12 hours. A certificate will be awarded upon the completion of the workshop.
