About the trainer
Tim Nickel, M.Ed.
Tim is an organizational consultant, private mediator and trainer based in Saskatoon. Since earning a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, he has worked intensely in the field of violence prevention and conflict resolution, first in Restorative Justice, then in Private Practice and most recently for the Government of Saskatchewan, Dispute Resolution Office. Tim has provided services for a wide range of clients in private, non-profit, public service and First Nations organizations. As a trainer, Tim is known for his energetic yet thoughtful approach, establishing an exciting atmosphere of growth and development.

When people are in conflict, the negative impact of the dispute typically affects many. Unresolved conflict becomes time consuming and limits the productivity of everyone. When the people involved do not resolve it on their own, a third party facilitator may be needed to help mediate the difficult conversation for resolving the conflict. This skills-based workshop is designed to give participants the tools to work with disputing parties to clarify misunderstandings, identify interests and work towards options for resolving the conflict. Participants will work with scenarios that will help them prepare to intervene in difficult conversations and conflict situations.

This is an introductory-intermediate level workshop that is highly applicable to anyone in a leadership or human resources position. Participants will be given tools to mediate difficult conversations and resolve conflict.

Registrations cancelled 7 or more days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Alternatively you may receive a credit to attend a future training. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the workshop are non-refundable. If at any time you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another individual at no extra cost. In this case, please notify CTRI of the name of the alternate person who will be attending.
We reserve the right to cancel workshops due to unforeseen circumstances or under-enrolment. Liability is limited to a refund of workshop fees only. Please make travel arrangements with this in mind.

You Will Receive
A spiral bound training manual and workshop certificate as well as morning and afternoon refreshments. Participants are on their own for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM, unless otherwise stated above. For livestream participants, you will receive a pdf copy of the manual.

Continuing Education Credit
While many associations and licensing bodies accept CTRI workshops for continuing education credits, questions about approval should be directed to the specific association or licensing body for which you are requesting the credits. Credit hours: A two day workshops earns 12 continuing education hours and a one day workshop earns 6 hours. A certificate will be awarded upon the completion of the workshop.
