Emily Bushell, MA, RCT, CCC

Emily holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Counselling Therapist and a Certified Canadian Counsellor. She has both clinical and community experience supporting people who are working through a wide variety of mental health concerns, including trauma and addictions. In addition to training with CTRI, Emily works as a counsellor in a private practice, primarily with clients who have experienced trauma or are struggling with substance misuse. She is passionate about helping people foster resilience and wellness within themselves and their environments, and believes that we are all capable of achieving stability and growth. As a trainer, Emily is knowledgeable, sensitive, and collaborative. Emily brings an empathetic and positive energy to her work.

When those working in helping roles encounter this ambivalence in their clients, it is often interpreted as resistance and they may feel unable to respond in an effective way. By exploring the framework and strategies of Motivational Interviewing, this workshop will provide new ways to facilitate the change process in the people they work with.
