PTSD - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a single or a series of traumatic events, either experienced or witnessed by the individual. Symptoms can include intrusive imagery, thoughts or memories of the event, anxiety and flooded emotions, withdrawal and avoidance of reminders of the event, and disconnection from oneself and from others. For a diagnosis, a person needs to experience multiple symptoms for a prolonged period of time that are disruptive to the day-to-day functioning of the individual.
