Eric believes that mediation succeeds when the mediator listens deeply and focuses on creating a safe process for the participants.  He has been active in the field of mediation for more than 20 years and holds a Chartered Mediator designation. As the Managing Director of ACHIEVE, Eric provides leadership for a large team of staff and consultants. In this capacity, he directs the development and delivery of ACHIEVE’s mediation and facilitation services. He is also a President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Manitoba and has worked as a partner in a conflict management firm, as well as a senior mediator, board chair, trainer, and lead negotiator for other organizations across Canada. His mediation specialties include workplace situations, restorative justice, and faith group conflict.

Eric’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a focus on mediation and peacemaking, and a 27-day certificate in mediation skills. He is co-author of the book, The Culture Question, and is a contributing author to ACHIEVE’s workshop materials related to conflict resolution skills and mediation.
